Swamy opposes shifting of 2G probe officers

March 10, 2015 02:51 am | Updated 02:51 am IST - NEW DELHI:

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has moved the Supreme Court against the “shifting” of two senior CBI officers investigating the 2G spectrum scam cases.

Dr. Swamy said transfer or reversion of officers involved in the investigation of the 2G spectrum scam and coal block allocation cases was against the Supreme Court’s direction not to disturb them until the trial was complete. The court is monitoring the investigation in both cases.

In his application, Dr. Swamy said CBI joint director Ashok Tewari was shifted from all 2G cases in January this year. He said additional director R.K. Dutta, to whom Mr. Tewari reported, was empanelled as a special director in the government of India and was likely to be shifted. “Such transfer, while the investigation is still going on, is in direct contradiction of the orders of this court,” the application said.
