Clearing air on Sunanda Puskhar's autopsy report issue, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Head of the Forensic Department Sudhir Gupta said on Thursday that the post-mortem report prepared by him was authentic.

Dr. Gupta told journalists that the post-mortem conducted by him was based on principles of medicine and ethics applicable to the law. “In this case, any of the post-mortem report, which has been prepared by me is totally based on principles and practice of medicine as per the ethics applicable to the law,” said Dr. Gupta. As per reports appearing in a section of media a day earlier, Dr. Gupta had claimed he was pressurised to tamper with the post-mortem report of Ms. Pushkar, who was found dead in a hotel room on January 17 under mysterious circumstances. Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan, had also sought report from AIIMS Director M.C Mishra after the new revelations in the case.

Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, 57, married Sunanda in 2010.
