Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to open a “meaningful dialogue” with yoga expert Ramdev, who is threatening to start a fast-unto-death demanding immediate steps to bring back “black money” stashed away abroad by Indians.
In a three-page letter - copies were released to the press - Mr. Gadkari said the United Progressive Alliance government had promised effective steps to tackle this issue within 100 days of assuming office but nothing much had been done. He said there was “popular resentment” on this and the government must open a dialogue with Baba Ramdev and “accept his just and reasonable demands.”
Black money and corruption will also be prominent themes at BJP's national executive committee in Lucknow on June 3 and 4.
