A stalker allegedly tried to force his way inside actress Shruti Haasan’s residence here on Tuesday morning.

The actress, who is the daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, has not filed a police complaint in the case so far.

Ms. Haasan’s public relations team told The Hindu that the actress was visibly shaken after the incident. They claimed that a man has been following the actress for around a year. He also tried to get closer to her on the sets of her recently released Bollywood movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya but the film crew managed to throw him out of the set, they said.

Around 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, the stalker allegedly rang the door bell of Ms. Haasan’s Bandra residence in suburban Mumbai, her agent said. The actress who was half asleep opened the door. He tried to grab her and force his way into the house but she managed to push the door on his face and alert the security. They threw him out of the building, the agent added.

“So far we haven’t received any complaint either from Ms. Haasan or her staff. But we are trying to check the veracity of the news,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Cherring Dorje told The Hindu.
