Stalin, Balwa did not meet, says Raja

June 04, 2014 12:25 am | Updated November 17, 2021 04:07 am IST - CHENNAI:

DMK propaganda secretary and former Union Telecom Minister, A. Raja, on Tuesday categorically denied that his party Treasurer M.K. Stalin had once met Shahid Balwa, prime accused in the 2G spectrum case.

Mr. Raja told journalists at the airport here that no meeting took place between Mr. Stalin and Mr. Shahid Balwa as reported in a section of the media. Mr. Raja alleged that it was a “story” by the Enforcement Directorate done for political gains. There was no charge against Mr. Stalin. It was a clear political attempt to tarnish the image of Mr. Stalin. The previous Congress-led government was responsible for this, he charged.
