With stakes for Congress high in Maharashtra assembly elections, party president Sonia Gandhi
and her son Rahul will lead a hectic campaign to retain power in the state.
Ms Gandhi is expected to travel to several parts of Maharashtra, which goes to polls on October 13, and address two rallies every day on October 5, 6 and 10.
"She is expected to be here on October 5, 6 and 10 and would address two meetings a day. The rallies are scheduled in Buldhana, Nanded, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nashik and Nagpur," state congress chief Manikrao Thakre told reporters here.
AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi also has a tight schedule ahead for the campaign and is expected address nearly eight rallies during his two-day visit.
Mr Rahul will visit to the state on October 7 and 8.
Besides, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also address some public meetings, Mr Thakre said.
He said the Congress-NCP joint manifesto will be released on October 2.
The Congress today released its print, television and radio ad campaign highlighting various works of the state government.
