Congress president Sonia Gandhi is reportedly 'stable and recovering well' according to a medical bulletin issued by the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital this morning, a day after she was admitted following lower respiratory tract infection.

Ms. Gandhi was brought to the Hospital on Thursday evening after complaints of breathing difficulty. "She was admitted for treatment and observation. Her condition is stable and she is recovering well," said Dr. Ajay Swaroop, chairman (Offg.) Board of Management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

A team headed by Dr. Arup Kumar Basu, senior consultant and chairman of Respiratory Medicine is looking after Ms. Gandhi.
