Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday condemned the dastardly attack by Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh in which many innocent citizens lost their lives.

Congress spokesman Manish Tewari earlier said “the attack is reprehensible and abhorrent, to say the least. It exposes the barbarity of Maoist-Naxalite movement“.

He said the killing of innocent civilians is also a manifestation of the Maoists’ “frustration and every such cowardly attack only stiffens our resolve to neutralise the Maoists through a robust security system.”
