Small batch of 706 pilgrims leave for Amarnath shrine

A small batch of 706 pilgrims on Tuesday left Jammu base camp for Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.

A convoy of 25 vehicles, carrying 706 devotees, left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu around 4.45 a.m. towards Amarnath to pay obeisance at the shrine, police said on Tuesday.

The 26th batch of pilgrims, including 550 male, 116 women and three children, apart from 37 sadhus, are en route twin base camps of Pahalagam and Baltal in Kashmir valley.

With Tuesday’s batch a total of 46,447 pilgrims have left Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.
