The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal would hold its hearing here on Monday and Tuesday on the ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India [SIMI] imposed in February this year.
The Tribunal headed by Delhi High Court Judge, Justice Suresh Kait, will hear representation on the imposition of the ban.
In May, a day after the Narenda Modi Government was formed, 18 members of the organization, who were being brought for hearing in a Bhopal court, had raised pro-Taliban slogans.
The group led by the Madhya Pradesh Head of the organization, Abu Faisal, had also warned that Mr. Modi was in their hit list. They were being brought to the court in connection with terror-related cases and also a jail breaking incident.
While being escorted out of the court under heavy security, the SIMI men turned belligerent and began screaming: "Taliban zindabad. Ab Modi ki baari hai (Now, it's Modi's turn)”.
A case was registered against them for making provocative statements. They were booked under Section 153 (B) and 294 A of the IPC for making assertions prejudicial to national integration.
