Tehelka’s former managing-editor Shoma Chaudhary and three of the magazine’s former journalists, who had earlier deposed before Goa Crime Branch officials in Delhi, have been summoned before a city Magistrate here for further deposition.

Sources said the Goa police had on Monday moved an application to this effect with a city Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class.

The plaintiff journalist had initially narrated the alleged incident of sexual assault to Ms. Chaudhury and her three colleagues, who were subsequently questioned by the Goa police at Goa Sadan in Delhi.

The JMFC court on Wednesday rejected Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal’s plea for a fan to be installed in the police lock-uphe is lodged in.

The Crime Branch on Wednesday conducted yet another medical check-up on Mr. Tejpal at the State-owned Goa Medical College hospital.

Mr. Tejpal’s interrogation is being conducted at the Crime Branch, led by Investigating Officer Sunita Sawant.

Mr. Tejpal is facing the charge of having sexually assaulted his journalist colleague during a ThinkFest event, organised by his magazine early last month, at the five-star resort at Bambolim in north Goa.
