Shiv Sena zonal chief shot dead on eve of counting day

A Shiv Sena party leader was shot dead in Pimpri Chinchwad area in Pune on Saturday night.

According to the police, around 9 p.m. unidentified persons barged inside the deceased, Mr.Raju Darshale's, office in Punewale Jambhe road and opened fired at him. Three bullets were fired at him of which one hit him on his head. He was rushed to Birla hospital and was declared dead on admission.

Mr. Darshale was the zonal chief of Shiv Sena in Punawale. Police is probing whether it is a case of personal dispute or professional enmity.

The police have increased security in and around Punawale area as the incident took place on the eve on the counting day.
