Pakistan has rejected as baseless and unfounded Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde’s statement that it was helping militants infiltrate into India and cautioned that such statements could vitiate the atmosphere needed for improving bilateral ties.
In a brief statement Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said these “allegations and insinuations” were baseless and unfounded.
‘Bad for ties’
“Such unsubstantiated statements are not very helpful in creating a conducive environment necessary for improving the relationship …”
The Ministry’s spokesman said that if Mr. Shinde had any information or evidence to substantiate the allegation he made on Sunday, he should share it with Pakistan. Mr. Shinde had said there was credible evidence to show that Pakistan was trying to stir up trouble in India by helping terrorists infiltrate the country.
