Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came under unbridled attack on Wednesday with Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde indirectly referring to him as a “mad Chief Minister” and NCP spokesman D.P. Tripathi saying the CM stands for “Chosen Madness.”

Addressing a police function in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district on Wednesday, Mr Shinde said: “After I got married, I could not take leave because my leave was cancelled… Now because of a mad Chief Minister sitting there, I had to cancel the leave of all policemen.” The barbs came on a day when Mr. Kejriwal was advised rest after severe bouts of cough.

The day also saw the Delhi Police filing two FIRs against unknown persons for the dharna at Rail Bhavan and the AAP facing growing pressure to take action against Law Minister Somnath Bharti.

An Ugandan woman recorded her statement with a metropolitan magistrate in which, it is learnt, she named Mr. Bharti for misbehaving with her. The BJP compounded his troubles when former Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra filed a police complaint on Wednesday for revealing the identity of a Danish woman who was raped.
