Seven Maoists killed in Dantewada

Seven Maoists were shot dead in a gun battle with the security forces near Kishtaram village of Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday afternoon.

Additional DG of Chhattisgarh, Giridhari Nayak told The Hindu over phone from Raipur that one of the slain Maoists was identified as Nandu, a commander of a military platoon of the Maoists.

Police recovered two .303 rifles, a revolver, a muzzle loading gun and some explosives from the scene of the gun battle.
