The Election Commission said here on Saturday that a separate schedule for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Telangana would be announced only if the “appointed day” for the formation of the State was published in the Gazette.

The elections to the Assemblies of present Andhra Pradesh (including Telangana), Odisha and Sikkim are to be held during April-May, along with the Lok Sabha elections, and the commission is likely to announce the schedule next week.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly completes its term on June 2.
