Security for each candidate in Delhi

November 20, 2013 12:54 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:58 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Following the ink-throwing incident at the Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the Delhi police to provide security to all candidates contesting the Assembly elections.

As per directions, the Delhi police would provide at least two personal security officers (PSOs) for each candidate. The police have been asked to tighten security at political rallies and other events linked to the elections, official sources said.

Though senior Ministry officials termed it a routine advisory, the sources said the Delhi police have been asked to take no chances in matter related to security for each candidate.
