A security drill was conducted in Parliament House on Tuesday morning ahead of the winter session.

A ‘mock fire’ broke out in the coffee house of the central hall in Parliament as part of the security drill, fire brigade officials said.

“This is part of a normal security drill which we undertake before every session to check the preparedness of various agencies in case of an emergency,” they said.

The winter session of Parliament begins on Thursday.
