The Supreme Court will on Thursday pronounce judgment on the government’s inability to implement the four-year-old Lokpal law for appointing an ombudsman against corruption in government and politics.
The Supreme Court Bench led by Justice Ranjan Gogoi will declare its verdict on a bunch of PIL petitions led by non-governmental organisation Common Cause, which had questioned why the government chose not to appoint a Lokpal and comply with the law since it was enacted way back in 2014.
