With the Supreme Court on Friday rescheduling the dates of the panchayat elections in West Bengal to five phases, the State Election Commission in Kolkata said that the order provided ‘breathing time’ for conduct of the grassroots polls.
“The supreme court order has provided some breathing time and the commission will have to reassess everything,” commission secretary Tapas Roy told PTI .
He said that the commission from now would remain ’very busy’.
