Dhan Singh, prime accused in the 2007 Samjhauta blast case, on Thursday was remanded in National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody in Delhi till December 28 in connection with the 2008 Malegaon blast case.

He was arrested three days ago in Madhya Pradesh by the NIA and produced before the special court here on Thursday.

The NIA told the court that Rajinder Chowdhary, recently arrested in connection with the case, told them that he, along with Singh and Ramchandra Kalsangraha, who is absconding, was involved in the Malegaon blast.

“He [Singh] was instrumental in transporting Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s motorcycle to be used for the Malegaon blast, according to Chowdhary,” said Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian. The NIA told the court that they needed his custody to get details about procurement of explosives for the Malegaon blast.

Earlier, Singh told the court that he was assaulted by NIA officials and his family faced threat from them.
