BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy shot off another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi levelling six allegations against RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, and asking for his dismissal.
Dr. Swamy accused the RBI chief of raising interest rates to the detriment of small and medium industries. He also claimed that Dr. Rajan had been sending confidential and sensitive information using unsecured Chicago University email id and publicly disparaging the BJP government.
“The RBI Act ruling out Sharia compliant financial institutions, and which re-affirmed by the RBI and Finance Ministry by their respective affidavits filed in the Kerala High Court in response to my writ petition filed 2012, Dr. Rajan insisted on permitting Sharia compliant financial organisations to be set up, but which you as Prime Minister had ordered stayed on December 1, 2014,” he said. Dr. Swamy said that the RBI chief was a member of a U.S. dominated group called the Group of 30, which appears to be committed to the domination of the U.S. in the global economy.
