A special CBI court on Friday convicted Rupam Pathak, the prime accused in the sensational murder of Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Raj Kishore Keshri.
Designated CBI Judge V.N. Singh pronounced Ms. Pathak guilty of stabbing to death Keshri on January 4, 2011 but said the quantum of punishment would be announced on April 10.
The Patna High Court had rejected Ms. Pathak's bail application in September last year.
Mr. Keshri, the then BJP MLA from Purnea district, was stabbed by Ms. Pathak at an open assembly at his residence in full view of people.
She was manhandled by the legislator's minions before being turned over to the police.
Ms. Pathak, the principal of a local private school, had alleged consistent sexual misconduct by the slain MLA.
While she had filed a case in June 2010 accusing the legislator of molesting her in 2007, she later retracted her statement alleging pressure from the legislator's side.

There is no difference between present India and what it was during British rule.We never had a say and we still being subjugated by the people holding power. You cannot be sane in this insane world so whatever she did was right and I stand by that. However I don't have a say.
Shame on so-called Human and Women rights organizations. CBI solved a case, wow. We have not seen CBI solving Bofors scam rather giving away money to Mr Q. Now we know why some people take up arms at hands. Common masses have no protection in India. Smt Pathak is given double punishments, first sexually harrased by a man and now life long jail by courts for giving justice to that man.
I strongly beleive that Justice system of our country has failed to deliver the justice. She has done this as a last resort when all other avenues had failed and she did it infront of everyone, and challenged our system to take action and she does not care what happens to her. she was prepared to that. I think it is a shame on our law and order system. I want women activists to take up this case and fight for her.
Huhh...Shame on us, Were a organisation like CBI is also a part of corrupt politics. Whats the hope for a normal person. Lets fight for the cause here friends.Lets share this news on our facebook accounts and try to make this news popular, so that we can gather a mass of people who can stand in help of this lady.
We are in India!! As the ad of a famous drink says, "Hey, what did you expect?". There is no future for Indian society; it will only get worse.
Before pronouncing the judgement, the court must have taken into account the predicament of Rupam and the exploitation she went through because of the MLA. She must be considered a hero of today's time who stands and fight for justice because if the system fails to deliver justice for ordinary people, the masses will definitely rise. Rupam is a burning example of courage who dares to stand up and finish the evil that is bestowed upon the common people today. Not everyone has the same courage.
It is strange that no women organisation is taking up her case.
This is test of various women organisation, they should come above politics and fight for her cause.
