Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday that though his organisation was not after power and petty politics, it would continue to use its influence to ensure that political leaders were on the right track.
Addressing a meeting organised to accord a reception to him, Mr. Bhagwat said the RSS always stood for diversity, and those who wanted to impose uniformity were opposing it. “While we don’t oppose anyone, we have to protect ourselves.”
Mr. Bhagwat said the objective of the RSS was to create a mighty, prosperous and homogenous Hindu nation. “An organised Hindu society is a must. This is necessary for world peace and prosperity,” he said.
Hundreds of swayamsevaks from the northern Tamil Nadu took part in the event. The former Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Kumar Rajaratnam, presided over the function.
