‘Remove Indian films from negative list’

December 12, 2013 11:44 pm | Updated 11:44 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari on Thursday urged the Pakistan government to remove films and television serials from the ‘negative list’ that it maintains for trade with India.

Reacting to the Lahore High Court ruling that banned the screening of foreign content on Pakistani television channels, Mr. Tewari, in an early morning tweet, said: “Pakistani jingoists should know films and TV serials are ideas and ideas can’t be barred or banned. Pakistan government must remove them from negative list ASAP.”
