Relatives celebrate; judge shows them the door

The special court, where the 2G spectrum scam trial is under way, saw the family members of those granted bail on Wednesday break into celebrations. This, however, forced Special Judge O.P. Saini to order them to leave the courtroom.

As the family members began congratulating each other leading to disturbance in the court proceedings, Mr. Saini warned them to behave properly. But seeing no abatement of the noise levels, he asked everyone, except the lawyers and the accused, to leave the courtroom.

“The family members, relatives and others created a ruckus in the court and they were repeatedly told not to do so. But they persisted with the same for quite sometime and ultimately they were directed to be sent outside the courtroom. They are advised in their own interest not to indulge in such acts as it distracts and disturbs the court proceedings,” Mr. Saini recorded in his daily order.

The family members hugged each other, distributed sweets and wished good luck to the other accused who are yet to get bail. Journalists present in the courtroom were also driven out along with the relatives.
