With the CBI arresting mining baron and former BJP Minister G Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law in Karnataka, the Centre on Monday said the law is taking its course in the case.

“You all know that the Government does not interfere in the functioning of the CBI. The CBI is investigating the matter and they must be proceeding according to their investigation. You should have faith in them,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla said.

Mr. Shukla said as far as Bellary’s Reddy brothers are concerned, “the law is taking its own course“.

Janardhan Reddy and Managing Director of Obalapuram Mining Company B V Srinivas Reddy were arrested by CBI after searches at their premises allegedly led to seizure of over 30 kg of gold and more than Rs 4.5 crore in cash.
