The Union government on Monday termed Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s new allegations against it as nothing more than a “yoga exercise” and took on him for claiming that Rs. two lakh crore of black money have been stashed in foreign banks.
“That is one of his yoga exercises. Nothing much can be attributed to it. We have to take it as a yoga exercise,” Law Minister Veerappa Moily told reporters in New Delhi.
He was responding when asked to comment on Ramdev’s attack on the government yesterday when the yoga guru was back in Delhi three weeks after being bundled out during a midnight police crackdown on his agitation at Ramlila Maidan.
Ramdev alleged that the government was “muzzling” voices of those who talk about black money or tell the truth and vowed to continue his fight against corruption.
On Ramdev’s claim that Rs. two lakh crore Indian black money have been stashed in foreign banks, Mr. Moily said, “If he can tell the Government how he derived the figure, we will definitely take action.”
