Yoga guru Ramdev broke his fast on Sunday by accepting fruit juice from his supporters and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust hospital at Jolly Grant near here.
Ramdev was admitted to the hospital after he developed complications at the fasting venue at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar on Friday.
Briefing journalists, Deepak Goel of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust said Ramdev took juice and fruits. His condition was stable. He would be shifted to a general ward on Monday.
Ramdev's aide Balkrishna, who also broke his fast, read out a statement by Ramdev that said the crusade against corruption and black money would continue as long as the yoga guru lived. “The fast was not against any individual or party but to create awareness [among the people] of the corrupt system and black money stashed away in foreign countries, and has been successful. ”
Ramdev also demanded that black money be declared a national asset under the Constitution. He urged all his followers to end their fast, Balkrishna said.
Addressing journalists, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who visited Baba Ramdev for the third time in as many days, said he was happy the yoga guru had accepted the wishes of holy men and ended his fast.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, while expressing happiness with Ramdev's decision, said the BJP stood by him.
Meanwhile, Swami Adhokshjanand Shankaracharya of Govardhanpeeth sought a probe into the “illegal” assets of Ramdev. The entire drama was scripted by the RSS, Swami Adhokshjanand said. He urged holy men to keep away from politics.

Swami RamDev is doing the right thing. The focus has to be on all the issues. He's not craving for attention, the attention needs to be brought on all the social and economic issues that is currently being faced by India.
I am not sure if Anna Hazare's demads would be met as govt.s is intentionally delaying things by taking regional States opinion on the bill. The bill drafted by the govt. has got so many holes that the real Lok Pal bill and it's whole purpose is lost. We need more than one person to address this issue as this change is not going to happen any soon...I am optimistic of this change to happen soon, but not possible by one person. Anna has to join Swami Ramdev and stay united.
Although I have dissapointed that Baba Ramdev did not make the concrete results, definitely he made awareness(among the common man against corruption) and cautious (to the corrupt politician to go slow and extra caustious while making money).
I admire the fact that Ramdev and Hazare are bringing attention to the vast sums money roughly 1 trillion$ Hoarded in foreign overseas banks out of reach of Indian Governament which is impotent to take any action eventhough the bankers and wiki leaks have proven beyond any reasonable doubt about existence of such accounts as revealed by investigative journalism by 'The Hindu' publications.I am shocked and dismayed at the apathy of citizens of India not exerting pressure on Govt to Bring baack the Money belonging to Indian people. Even British and moghulas did not loot like this.I appeal to people to stop giving political colors to these courageous individuals as the real issue is to bring money back for benifit of citizens of India as USA took action in spite of high profile of the cheaters.
Swami Adhokshjanand urged holy men to keep away from politics. Is politics for only those who are not a holy personality? Only the person, having bad character, join the politics?
Baba Ramdev has done a disservice to the nation by trying to get the attention of the nation from Anna Hazare. When Lok Pal Bill were going in the right direction, Baba Ramdev went on a fast for almost a similar cause with plenty of unrelated agenda like promoting Hindi, banning Rs 500, Rs 1000 notes. Govt killed his fast with a break fast and now using the whip to reduce the effect of Lok Pal Bill. I sicerely hope public will regroup and focus on the bill and get it passed at the earliest without any dilution and not getting pressurised by the central govt. Let not anyone try any more immature tricks like Baba Ramdev only to be taken advantage by the Government. Black Money is the result of Corruption. First lets plug the leak and then try to recover what has been leaked.
This is just more corruption, all your gods and yoga will never take the place of common sense!
Smoke and mirrors folks, learn to care about each other and stop worshiping greed and your fears.............we all die, get over it!
