"Why was no inquiry held against him (V.K. Singh) when he was in service? Why are they doing it now, that too after he shared the dais with Modi?" the BJP chief asked

Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Sunday came out in support of former Army chief Gen V K Singh, who is under attack over the activities of a secret spy unit set up by him, saying the government was deliberately troubling all personalities who want to join the saffron party.

“Whatever V K Singh has said is correct. Why was no inquiry held against him when he was in service? Why are they getting into holding investigations one year after his retirement and that too soon after he shared the dais with Narendra Modi.

“Deliberately, the Congress-led UPA government is troubling eminent personalities who want to join BJP,” he said when asked to comment on V K Singh’s stand that he was being troubled for sharing dais with Modi, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

The BJP president was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function where former Chief Minister of Bihar Satish Prasad joined the party. However, he refused to comment when asked if the former Army chief was joining BJP in the near future.

Under attack over the purported activities of the Technical Support Division set up by him, Gen Singh has termed as “motivated” the charges against him.

After media carried reports that the Technical Support Division (TSD) set up during his tenure had attempted to destabilise the Omar Abdullah government in Jammu and Kashmir, the ex-Army chief had dubbed the allegations as “most absurd”.

Commenting on his scheduled meeting with the President on the riots in Muzaffarnagar, Mr. Singh said, “Because of the series of riots that are taking place in Uttar Pradesh, the whole state is in the grip of fear. In that connection, I am meeting the President.”

This clearly shows that Congress is nervous and will go to any extend to weaken the
opposition. It is becoming clear that Congress has got lot to hide, if BJP comes to
power, many Congress leader may have to go to JAIL!

Haja Abu Bucker, while i agree an enquiry can be ordered...but the questions raised by Rajnath Singh merit attention and answers. I wonder why there was no enquiry against Mr. Robert Vadra when it was established that he violated the law in connivance with officials of Haryana Govt.

congress and Bikram singh is now following Pakistan foot step where army is slowly being dragged to politics. Investigation by who and with what credibility in our country. To get SP support Mulayam singh case is removed. Had Baba Ramdev supported congress,he should have given all facilities if not so many cases. Coalgate file will disappear and CBI is certifying. Azam khanwho shold have behind bar is now in the judges chair to deviver judgement.
If VK singh has praised Gandhi family, he should have got secratary-defence.

Rajnath Singh should not improperly question the motive of the Centre as proper enquiry is a must in order to determine the truth behind this issue as complained. Better late than never. Let's wait and watch the outcome of enquiry prior passing any attribute.

India have seen so many Army Generals who are still been admired for their good work towards the nation, where as Gen,V.K.Singh is remembered only for wrong reasons.
BJP's love towards Gen,V.K.Singh now is nothing but "enemy's enemy is my friend" formula.

I think Gen. VK Singh acted fast. He saw it coming and was trying different options. First he joined Anna in the campaign, then with Ramdev and then joined Mr. Modi in the rally. Now, BJP has no other option but to defend the ex Army Chief.
