The condition of Dr. Rajesh Talwar, who was attacked by a 30-year-old man in a Ghaziabad court on Tuesday and later admitted to the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital here, was said to be stable.

Father of 14-year-old Aarushi, who was found murdered in their flat at Noida on May 17, 2008, Dr. Talwar was admitted with injuries at multiple sites, a hospital statement said. “He has been clinically evaluated and is being managed by a multidisciplinary team of doctors in the Intensive Care Unit.”

Undergoes surgery

A physician said: “Dr. Talwar was brought in bleeding profusely. He has undergone surgery in the right temporal region of the face and in the hands, which had deep cuts. He also has a deep cut in the forehead. We might look into more intensive medical procedures to take care of the wounds on the hands. Dr. Talwar is currently under observation and we can't specify when he will be discharged.”

The CBI, in its closure report, named the dentist the prime suspect in the murder case.
