Rajdhani express derailment: inquiry begins

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) of the Eastern Railway R.P. Yadav on Wednesday began statutory inquiry into yesterday’s derailment of 14 coaches of Guwahati-bound Rajdhani Express in Bihar, East-Central Railway CPRO Dilip Kumar said.

The train derailed near Amba Halt between Kharak and Naugachia stations in Bhagalpur district.

Yadav spent the day at Naugachia railway station asking local railway officials and villagers about the incident, Kumar said.

The CRS would visit Katihar tomorrow to carry out further investigation in the matter, Kumar said.

Railway traffic resumed this morning on Barauni-Katihar section following repair and restoration of the damaged track, the CPRO SAID.
