The Hindu This February 17, 2011 photo shows former Telecom Minister A. Raja being produced at the Patiala House court in New Delhi. The court on Thursday extended his judicial custody till March 17.

The ex-Telecom Minister, A. Raja, was sent back to the Tihar Central Jail for 14 more days by a court here on Thursday along with Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa, the former Telecom Secretary, Siddhartha Behura, and the former Private Secretary to Mr. Raja, R.K. Chandolia, for alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam.

The CBI told Special Judge (CBI) O.P. Saini that investigations in the case were not yet complete. Mr. Raja appeared before the judge through video-conferencing facility from the Tihar Jail. The remand period for the four will end on March 17.

In response to bail applications filed by Mr. Balwa and Mr. Chandolia, the CBI had submitted evidence before the court that indicated that all four persons were involved in “deep-rooted conspiracies,” according to Mr. Saini.

Mr. Behura's bail application is slated to be heard by the court on March 9.

Mr. Raja is yet to move his bail application.
