The former Communications Minister A. Raja has raised doubts about the intentions of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, which is looking into irregularities in 2G Spectrum allocation, as it is not permitting him to appear before it despite his repeated requests.
‘Surprising and unfortunate’
In a letter to JPC Chairman P.C. Chacko on Tuesday, the main accused in the 2G spectrum scam said he had written three letters recently. “It is surprising, and unfortunate, that you have not even referred to the issue of my appearance to depose before the JPC. It is making me have doubts about the intentions of the JPC.”
The DMK MP wanted to know whether “the JPC is really interested in arriving at the truth and full facts regarding the grant of UAS licences and allocation of 2G spectrum.” If it was so, he should be permitted to depose before the JPC, Mr. Raja said in his letter, a copy of which was marked to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
