Rain claims one life in Bangalore

Heavy rain since Sunday night has claimed one life in the city. The police have recovered a body near Kengeri, but are yet to identify it. Normal life was affected in several parts of the city.

Normal life was affected in several areas of the city. The overflowing Nayandahalli lake affected the flow of traffic on the Bangalore–Mysore Road on Monday. It also affected

areas adjoining the road.

Water entered several houses and huts near Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Motorists were finding it difficult to negotiate through the water flowing across the road near The Club.

Officials from the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike have been requisitioned for relief operations. The BBMP Commissioner Bharatlal Meena also visited the spot.

Trees fall

A huge tree fell down and blocked Ambedkar Veedi near the Lokayukta office. There were reports of tree falls from Katriguppe, Vijayanagar and near Medinova Hospital. A compound fell and damaged some vehicles at Parvathipura near Chamarajapet.
