Safekeeping of your goods at railway station cloakrooms and lockers will become dearer from February 1.
Revising the rates for the two facilities for the first time in 12 years, the Railways will charge Rs. 20 for use of a locker for 24 hours, up from Rs. 5 now, and Rs. 30 for every additional 24 hours or part thereof.
The cloakroom rent will be Rs. 15 for 24 hours and Rs. 20 for every additional 24 hours.

If airport can charge user development charges of as much as Rs.300 for
those who are using the modernised airports, why not think of user
charges for railway users travelling from a modernised or metro rail
stations. The principle is the same. At any rate, there is need for an
increase in the platform tickets to at least Rs. 10 which will not only
increase the revenue of the railways but also help it to maintain the
platforms neat and clean.
Increase also the platform ticket charges to Rs. 10. Other countries do
not allow people other than passengers into the platforms.
