The Purti Power and Sugar Limited has denied “any type of links” with the companies in Mumbai where the Income Tax department carried out searches on Tuesday.

In a press release issued by Purti PRO Nitin Kulkarni, the company says: “There is no company of Purti group among the companies on which the Income Tax department carried out raids on Tuesday.”

“These companies had invested in Purti group but the way media is highlighting the issue by dragging the name of Purti group is completely untrue. There is absolutely no connection between today’s Income Tax Department’s actions and the Purti group.”

Supporters of BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, who owns the Purti group, are planning a “big welcome” for him in Nagpur on Thursday.
