President, PM greet nation on Milad-un-Nabi

President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday greeted the nation on the occassion of Milad-un-Nabi to be observed on Sunday.

“On the joyous occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Hazrat Mohammed Saheb, I express my greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens,” the President said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion and said that Prophet Mohammed's teachings are timeless.

“They will always inspire us to strive for the uplift of the poor and the downtrodden. May the festival of compassion spread peace, tolerance and brotherhood amongst all,” the Prime Minster said.
