Pravin Mahajan, serving a life term for the murder of his brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and currently on a 14-day parole, suffered a brain haemorrhage and was admitted to a private hospital here.

The 50-year-old was admitted to Jupiter Hospital last night and is in the ICU, family sources said on Saturday.

Pravin, who was at home, complained of fatigue and severe headache and was rushed to the hospital, they said.

He had been found guilty of shooting his brother at the latter’s home in Worli, South Mumbai, on April 22, 2006. Pramod succumbed to bullet injuries 12 days later.

Pravin was awarded life imprisonment by a Mumbai court in December 2007 and lodged at the Nashik Central Jail. He was released on parole on November 27 reportedly on medical grounds.
