In his maiden tour since becoming the President, Pranab Mukherjee will arrive here on October 3 for a two-day visit, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Sunday. Mr. Mukherjee will return back to New Delhi the next day as per the tentative schedule, Mr. Kumar told reporters.

The Chief Minister did not elaborate on the details of the President’s visit, even as official sources said that he was likely to unveil the road map of agriculture drawn by the State government.

Mr. Kumar said that he has accordingly rescheduled his engagements in view of the President’s impending visit. He had earlier requested Mr. Mukherjee to visit Bihar after becoming the President.

Mr. Kumar’s party, the Janata Dal (United), had voted for Mr. Mukherjee in July’s Presidential election .
