Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is slated to inaugurate a two-day annual Economic Editors' Conference (EEC-2010) here on October 26. At the event, being organised by the Press Information Bureau, senior editors and mediapersons from all over the country will be presented a comprehensive and detailed overall scenario of the economy and the performance of various other economic ministries and departments.
Following the inaugural address, Mr. Mukherjee, along with his senior officials, will have an interactive session with the participants. Separate sessions are being arranged for key economic and infrastructure ministries when Ministers and their senior officials will brief journalists about their ministries.
“The mediapersons will get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario in the country and the latest initiatives and thrust areas of the different participating ministries and departments. The conference will also provide an opportunity to the Central government to get feedback from the economic editors, especially those representing and coming from different parts of the country,” an official release said.
Beside the Finance Ministry, the participating ministries include Power, Agriculture, Railways, Road Transport & Highways and Petroleum & Natural Gas and the Planning Commission.
