The Mumbai Crime Branch on Sunday visited the house and office of deceased senior crime journalist Jyotendra Dey and took custody of certain important documents and electronic data. “We want to inspect the data and documents to understand what kind of stories he did, with whom he corresponded, what the correspondence was. This will help us in the case,” Sunil Paraskar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, told The Hindu on Sunday.
“Both the office staff and the family members have been very cooperative. We have now got lot of clarity in the case and we should be able to achieve a breakthrough soon,” he said.
The post-mortem report held that Dey was shot five times, and police officials have said that the murder weapon was a .25 bore weapon.
