The Karnataka Police is searching for 28 associates of slain forest brigand Veerappan in connection with some cases registered against them in 1992 and 93.

T.D. Pawar, Superintendent of Police, said in a press release here that Chamrajnagar and Madeswara Malai police have registered “TADA” cases against more than 30 associates of Veerappan and they had secured some persons. But 28 associates were still at large.

He said out of the 28, who have been declared as wanted criminals, 12 belong to Erode and Salem districts and rest from Karnataka. He also said persons, who give reliable information about the criminals, would be suitably rewarded.
