Plane with Mamata makes emergency landing

A Kolkata-bound Air India plane carrying Union Ministers Mamata Banerjee and Mukul Roy among 152 passengers on Wednesday landed under emergency conditions at the IGI Airport here 45 minutes after take off due to a technical fault.

The AI-680 flight took off at 8.15 P.M. only to return at 9 P.M., airport sources said.

Ms. Banerjee, Mr. Roy and other passengers were held up at the airport for over an hour before boarding another plane for Kolkata at 10.45 p.m.
