Parliament adjourned till Friday

Lok Sabha on Thursday mourned the death of sitting Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Uma Shankar Singh on the opening day of the budget session and adjourned till Friday.

Speaker Meira Kumar read out the obituary references to Singh and former members Manharan Lal Pandey and P. Shanmugam.

Members also mourned the deaths of 36 persons in a >stampede at the Allahabad Railway station. Many of the victims were returning after having a bath at the confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati during the ongoing Kumbh Mela.
