Pakistan violates truce in J&K again

May 05, 2012 10:31 pm | Updated 10:31 pm IST - JAMMU:

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops have opened fire on Indian forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

They resorted to small arms firing on the Kranti post in the Nangitikri belt late Friday night, a senior Army officer said. The firing commenced around 11.30 p.m. and continued for 15 minutes.

“There was no loss of life or damage to property in the firing,” the officer said, adding that Indian troops maintained restraint and did not return fire.
