Pakistan army resorts to shelling, firing along LoC in Poonch

The Pakistan Army on Monday resorted to shelling and firing at the Indian positions along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at the Indian Army posts along the LoC [on Monday],” Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS in Jammu.

“The Indian side is retaliating strongly and effectively,” he said. The exchange of fire is still on, he added at 11 a.m.
