Pakistan violates ceasefire again

In fresh incidents of ceasefire violation on Tuesday, Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts in Hamirpur and Mendhar along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir in Poonch district. Indian soldiers retaliated strongly, sparking an exchange of fire, a defence spokesman said. The firing took place around 4 pm and it continued till 4-45 pm, he said. No casualties or injuries were reported.

The troops had fired in the same area on Monday, leading to exchanges between the two sides.

There have been 82 violations by Pakistan till August this year.

From August 6, there has been an increase in frequency, with over 20 violations taking place.
