Close on the heels of the border skirmishes in Uri sector in Kashmir valley, Pakistani troops have crossed the LoC and killed two soldiers of the Indian Army in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch, 200 Kms from Jammu, on Tuesday. Two more soldiers were injured.
Authoritative sources in Jammu told The Hindu two soldiers of 13-Raj Rifles were killed and two more injured when a contingent of the Pakistani regular Army opened fire on an area domination unit of Sector-10 between Chhatri and Atma outposts on the LoC in Mankote area of Krishna Ghati at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Even as nobody at the Rajouri-based 25th Division and Sector-10 headquarters in Mendhar area of Poonch district agreed to speak anything on record, highly placed official sources, claiming to quote field intelligence reports, confirmed the death of two soldiers in the ambush. According to these sources, men of the Pakistani regular contingent wore black combat uniform and the ambush had been laid 600 metres inside Indian territory.
Sources said that the Pakistani soldiers beheaded one of the two soldiers and decamped with weapons of both the jawans. Later, the dead bodies were recovered and the injured soldiers airlifted and admitted to the Army’s Command Hospital.
The Northern Command headquarters at Udhampur later came out with a statement terming the Pakistani Border Action Team offensive a “significant escalation” to the continuing series of ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts supported by Pakistan Army. “Pak army troops, having taken advantage of thick fog & mist in the forested area, were moving towards our posts when an alert area domination patrol spotted and engaged the intruders. The firefight between Pak and own troops continued for approximately half an hour after which the intruders retreated back towards their side of Line of Control. Two soldiers Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh laid down their lives while fighting the Pak troops” it added.
With intermittent violations, ceasefire has been holding since 26 November 2003. In June-July 2012, two jawans had died in an exchange of gunfire in Krishna Ghati sector. The Pakistani offensive came two days after Islamabad complained about the death of a soldier in the Indian troops’ firing in Haji Peer area of the Poonch-Uri belt. India said the jawans undertook “controlled retaliation” in response to unprovoked Pakistani firing.
PTI reports that the Pakistani military denied the “Indian allegation of unprovoked firing”, and quoted a senior official as saying: “It looks like Indian propaganda to divert attention from Sunday’s raid by India in which a Pakistani soldier was killed.”

Since 1947 problem goes on and on It is horrible to read this act of the Pak soilders or by the Tabliban to break it peace. Whatever it is it happened in Pak. Pak is not under civilian rule even though they are under civilian rule they are under army's thumb. The mindset between the two are different. The people of Pakistan wants to be friendly. This was noticed when the Indian cricket team when they went to Pakistan was friendly. What to do? Pakistan should accept responsibility but when Mr Malik came he talks in different tone and denil mode. Unless one accepts the truth, the problem can not be solved. Even though the people want it in Pakistan the army won't, because they have to look after their livilihood. What kind of life it is, God only can help us. We should keep on with the cricket.
Respect for the brave and slain soldiers and condolences to their families.
This is yet another gory act and continued evidence that in dealing with Pakistan we are dealing with a neighbour whose armed state- and non-state actors both have a streak of depravity, and that the nation's military and civil leadership itself is untrustworthy. It also high time that we ask ourselves why we are soft in responding to intrusions and acts of violence and why we should not take up retaliatory action that is not only harsh militarily but also on a wide range of other issues. We are fooling ourselves in believing that Pakistan will respect any agreed measures of truce or comity.
I don't understand why such an inhumane, vicious ambush on part of
Pakistan is given action every time it seems the bilateral relations are
improving...the act is highly disgusting and demands a perfect answer
It is totally shocking and shameful and disgraceful, how come
couple of soldiers wage a battle against us, and most pathetic,
that they have beheaded has to be condemned it highest terms from PMO's office to the common man. Let along with fellow INDIANS we
assured our brethren who are doing a yeomen service guarding the
BORDER leaving their families behind and are not able to enjoy
pleasures of life that we are with them.
It is high time DEFENSE MINISTRY, to better focus not only on
spending, but to safe guard our own people.
Shocked to read such a ghastly behaviour of pakistan solidiers, they all
forgot they are also human beings. India Should take revenge for this
brutal attack, so that this type of incidents do not repeat in future.

Indian leaders will be content with lodging strong protests with Pak. It's a different matter that they are busy milking the country dry!!
I agree to the comment made by Mr VEL, we see and read what our media and news paper show us. I am very sad for the demise of the two brave soldiers. I think both of the government sit and talk over how to resolve the problem, instead of blaming each other...

Stop questioning the abilities of our Army. The one who attacks always have an element of surprise and enemy have taken advantage of misty conditions. Only thing that can stop them is a deterrent, a strong retaliation, similar to that of Israel.
Beheading a soldier speaks volumes about their intentions. I don't know how we can do it but we should somehow send them a stern message conveying that such actions are not acceptable. Please stop being freaking doormats for god's sake.
RIP both the soldiers, proud of the armed forces...
As a normal indian, whatever our indian newspaper inform we will beleive and support the statement. Is there any other way to find out who is right ?who is wrong?
We have to strongly retaliate in a way they never dare to do this again.
Pak will never learn from its past experiences.
Why there is no strong protest from every corner of the Country?
It means the fencing is not good enough. There should be electronic
warning systems along with physical fencing.
Such issues at the border with Pakistan will never stop. Vested interests in Pakistan always try to derail any peace moves by India. Against this backdrop, we have only two choices.
Completely cut off all ties with Pakistan & focus on our issues at home. Or continue to live in a “self deceiving” mode that the common man in Pakistan wants good ties with India, we must extend our hands, invite cricket teams etc. on one side. Keep on facing such killings / militant attacks regularly on another side. In this mode, we can not complain about Pakistan to anyone including their establishment. We have to just accept all their atrocities with no murmur & with a smile !!

Felt a shock in the morning..RIP Jawans who protected Mother India..beheading our soldiers shows how cruel is the enemy..we should send a strong message.
I keep sensing that no matter how battles have been fought, Indian army will keep "trust" in so-called ceasefire by Pakistan troops. Obviously, history tells us different story, so please my country warriors, always be proactive not reactive to those Pakistan's moves.
What are the Indian soldiers waiting for they should immediately retaliate in force to teach the Pakis the consequences of their actions.
The death of soldier at border by cross border firing from Pak side is not an isolated incident. There were many incidents happened before, caused death of soldiers and BSF jawans from Indian side. Google search provided me the following incidents which caused death of Indian soldier in a minute-26th December-1 died, 17th august 2012-1 died, 13 th June 2012 -3 died, 15th may 2011-1 died, 11 jan 2010-1 died,21 sep 2008-1 died,1 sep 2009-1 died Indian Government failed miserably to stop such death and ceasefire violations. The feeble response of our Government doesn't pose any deterrent to Pak soldiers rather it encourages them to repeat it again as they tend to think they can get away even after causing death of one or two soldiers. For a army man, its hard to sit silently and doing nothing after watching their friends die. Morale of our Army would have dipped. We Indians should stand behind our soldiers. If it costs soldiers life to maintain peace or ceasefire, we don't want such peace
What is the point of India offering a hand of friendship when Pakistan will always have evil designs on India?
All these CBMs, cricket matches, inviting Mr Malik, these are all a waste of time. India needs to get very stern with Pak authorities and give a very strong military reply to Pak aggression.
If the pakistani soldiers intruded into indian territory they should have been the guys to get shot or injured. The army needs to explain to the citizen how our soldiers get their throat slit by pan soldiers in our territory. Are our soldiers really armed sufficiently and trained sufficiently to function as they are expected to ? Why are they always at the receiving end whatever the circumstances?Which other country will accept this shameful state of affairs with the laissez faire we are seeing on a daily basis by this army?
We are supposed to have electronic warning systems on the checkposts
from Israel ?
