Pakistan on Tuesday said it hoped that its upcoming Foreign Secretary-level talks with India on February 25 would be productive and lead to the resumption of a meaningful dialogue process.

“Pakistan attaches considerable importance to this meeting which it hopes will be productive and serve as a precursor to resumption of a meaningful and purposeful dialogue process,” said a statement issued late Tuesday by the Foreign Office spokesman.

The statement said Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir would be visiting New Delhi for a meeting with his Indian counterpart Nirupama Rao on Thursday.
